A shocking video has captured the moment a fuming pensioner used his mobility scooter to knock down a man who had reportedly bought the last pasty from a local bakery.

In the footage, which was captured on video by a witness named Oak Leigh, the man on the mobility scooter is seen wielding his walking stick while driving one-handed along Mill Street in Bideford, Devon. Meanwhile, another person can be heard offering help, but it's hard to understand the man's response.

The elderly bloke was then seen riding his scooter into another person, knocking him over a sign. Devon and Cornwall Police later identified the man and seized his scooter, leading to amusing scenes as an officer had to ride it back to the station.

A Facebook post from Bideford Police read: "Residents of Bideford may have seen this slightly unusual sight today! And while we are an equal opportunity employer, no, we currently don't have any plans to launch mobility scooter patrols.
