More information: After the birth of my first son, I felt so inspired about childbirth. It was amazing and also overwhelming to me: all the different choices we have around this time. I realized the importance of having information to be able to make informed choices. I also saw the value of having the support in order to transition in a smooth way after the birth. I see these two things as key to having a positive birth experience and welcoming of our children. Helping new families is a way that I can help others and follow my passion. It gives me a place to take my experience as a mother, classes on midwifery and childbirth education, and my 11 years of practicing massage therapy. I'm currently practicing as a postpartum doula and working towards my childbirth ed. certification. I look forward to someday becoming a Certified Professional Midwife. My hope is that I can help women/couples to have more empowered birth experiences and welcoming of their children. I live near Great Barrington with my husband Adam and my two boys, Amiel (2003) and Mateo (2006) both born at home.
